Financial Management (BS)
The Bachelor of Science in Financial Management (FM) major provides a business degree with a focus on professional financial services practice. The curriculum is designed to prepare students to take the first level of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) exams that lead to the CFA professional designation for finance and investment professionals. This major is only open to students at the Stamford campus.
Bachelor of Science Requirements
Financial Management majors are required to achieve a cumulative 2.0 grade point average for the total of all Finance (FNCE) courses for which they have been registered at the University of Connecticut, excluding grades and credits for independent studies and field study internships.
Residence Requirement
Financial Management majors must complete the School of Business residence requirements for all majors. Education Abroad courses may not be used to meet these requirements or to fulfill concentration requirements.

Note that not all catalog Finance courses are offered at the regional campuses for this major. A maximum of three credits of FNCE 4881 Internship in Finance or FNCE 4899 Independent Study can be counted toward the requirement of two 3000-4000 level three-credit courses in Finance.
Students pursuing an Accelerated Masters in Financial Technology may satisfy the requirement of two 3000-4000 level three-credit courses in Finance with FNCE 5710 Introductions to Financial Models and FNCE 5711 Foundations of FinTech.
Students pursuing an Accelerated Masters in Financial and Enterprise Risk Management may satisfy the requirement of two 3000-4000 level three-credit courses in Finance with FNCE 5322 Risk Management in Equity Markets and FNCE 5333 Applications in Enterprise Risk Management II.
