The Music Performance Certificate program requires satisfactory completion of at least 12 credits, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Requirements
Students in the program are required to take two semesters totaling eight credits of MUSI 5323 Applied Music and to present a non-credit public recital. Additional course requirements are discipline-specific, as listed below.
Certificate in Strings, Winds, or Percussion
Two semesters of MUSI 5305 Graduate Performing Ensemble and two semesters of MUSI 5324 Graduate Chamber Ensemble.
Certificate in Piano
Two semesters of MUSI 5300 Investigation of Special Topics and two semesters of MUSI 5324 Graduate Chamber Ensemble.
Certificate in Voice
Two semesters of MUSI 5305 Graduate Performing Ensemble or MUSI 5325 Opera Theater, and two semesters of MUSI 5300 Investigation of Special Topics.
Certificate in Conducting
Two semesters of MUSI 5305 Graduate Performing Ensemble and two semesters of MUSI 5331 Conducting Seminar.
Certificate in Jazz
Two semesters of MUSI 5305 Graduate Performing Ensemble or MUSI 5324 Graduate Chamber Ensemble, and two semesters of MUSI 5300 Investigation of Special Topics.
